Manufacturing Engineer - Measurement/Inspection

Job Specification
To meet the challenge of introducing new parts for the RB282 and XWB engine programme, whilst also conducting a systematic review of all of the manufacturing processes employed within the factory, an opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Engineer to join the Manufacturing Engineering team.
Key Accountabilities include.
• Specifying and developing the inspection strategies that are to be employed on the components.
• Controlling the introduction of a range of inspection techniques on to a variety of parts.
• Ensuring the integrity of Inspection Procedure Cards, which are used to identify all non-CMM measurement techniques employed.
• Lead the way in identification & implementation of new inspection technologies in support of the engine projects
• Implementation and sharing of best practice within Rotatives and the wider Manufacturing Engineering community
Person Specification
For the role, you must be qualified or aspiring to degree level in an engineering discipline or possess significant relevant experience. Manufacturing Engineering experience would be beneficial as well as the following attributes:
• Ability to network effectively at all levels in the Man Eng and Shop Floor/Operations environment
• Experience of taking the lead in the implementation of new measurement techniques
• Experience with writing of CMM programmes would be desirable
• Strong customer focus and a proven ability to deliver against tight deadlines and short timescales
• Self-motivated and willing to adapt to change
• Knowledge of engine components and manufacturing processes
• Experience of Quality Assurance processes and procedures
• Ability to take the lead on assigned tasks
