As Fluids Engineers/Senior Engineers (Stockton) you will be responsible for the design, specification and supply of fluids systems and equipment. This will primarily include cooling water and gaseous systems including steam, air, nitrogen and oxygen systems.

You will oversee the development of the optimum schematics, plus supervise the basic and/or detail design within the area and preparing the engineering specifications and calculations for the purchase and supply of the systems and equipment. You will also be required to generally provide technical advice and guidance to more junior departmental and agency staff.

Successful candidates must have the experience and ability to be able to apply good design skills and also be able to make design judgements from both a technical and commercial understanding. Proficiency in using CAD systems such as AutoCAD 2D/3D would be advantageous as the position entails supervision of draughtsmen/design staff.

Occasionally you will be required to visit suppliers and clients both in the UK and overseas, sometimes for extended periods of time, where the project requires.

You will be qualified as a minimum to HNC/HTEC level, and ideally degree level or Higher National Diploma in an appropriate discipline. You will possess good IT skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office are essential alongside a high level of initiative, self motivation and flexibility.

You will have experience of heavy engineering industries, ideally within the iron & steel industry, a strong background in fluids engineering and experience of leading a team. A knowledge of hydraulic system engineering would be an advantage.
