TEST DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER / COUNTY DURHAM / £NEG

* Due to continued expansion our client requires a TEST SOFTWARE ENGINEER to join their operations team to support new product introduction
* You will take an active role in development & deployment of new test applications & data mining tools
* Also work closely with production & engineering to ensure projects are delivered on budget & in a timely manner
Applications are welcomed from TEST DEVELOPMENT ENGINEERS with skills as follows:
- Proven knowledge/experience in a product development or high volume-manufacturing environment
- Familiar with ATE test methods
- Exp in the electronics, microelectronics or telecommunications industries
- Exp setting-up & commissioning new test stations & debugging measurement problems
- Demonstrable Strong LabVIEW skills
- Exp/understanding of TestStand
- Knowledge & experience of GPIB, RS232 & I2C communications
- Able to create custom instrument drivers from scratch using LabVIEW
- Exp using ActiveX for control of external applications
DESIRABLE:
- Exp in an RF Design or manufacturing environment working with frequencies up to 40GHz
- Exp using Visual Basic, C++ or C sharp
- Tortoise SVN Version Control
- Exp performing RF measurements, manually & through use of ATE systems
- Good understanding of Data Acquisition hardware
In this varied position, the TEST SOFTWARE ENGINEER will:
* Review internal test requirements & develop verification test applications to demonstrate product compliance
* Report progress/risks to project teams & Software Team Leader
* Design/implement new LabVIEW based applications using common design patterns & utilising code-reuse to support verification test of new products
* Use WATS data mining tool to support new product verification activities
* Identify/communicate software/test risks to management
